Arenas Del Mar is hosting my stay at the hotel, however the opinions that I share in this post are my own.
If you haven’t heard yet, I’m going to be visiting Arenas Del Mar for a gluten-free vacation. I’m so freakin’ excited, you don’t even know.
This is the first vacation that I will go on where I don’t have to search where to eat safely or go through an intensive planning process just so I don’t starve during my stay. How awesome?! Mad props to destinations that are catering to the gluten-free community.
Arenas Del Mar Location
Arenas Del Mar is located in Costa Rica, within walking distance of Manuel Antonio National Park. It is a beachfront and rainforest resort that offers amazing views of the surrounding beaches and rainforests.
The hotel buys most of their food locally and organic, using only grass-fed beef and seafood from Costa Rican fisheries. They believe that great meals start with great ingredients, so if you stay at this hotel, expect a fresh menu that is delicious and has several gluten-free options!
Arenas Del Mar Hosts the Celiac Disease Community
The gluten-free resort has restaurants and poolside food options that are catered to those with celiac disease and gluten sensitivities. The hotel is so committed to serving our community that they are hosting two special weeks for the Celiac Disease Community during the weeks of September 13th and November 8th. Both restaurants at the Arenas Del Mar will go 100% gluten free (a.k.a. Team G-Free takes over Arenas Del Mar!). For more info on these special weeks, or to make a reservation (hurry up, space will fill up quickly), call Jeremy Allen at 601.407.9371, or email him at AllenAllen@aol.com and tell him that G-Free Laura sent you!
Arenas Del Mar Gluten-Free Dining
The El Mirador Restaurant at the hotel overlooks the Espadilla Beach, Manuel Antonio National Park and the Pacific Ocean (talk about a restaurant with a view). They serve complimentary breakfast with the freshest of ingredients and Costa Rican coffee. Dinner is also available at El Mirador with a menu that highlights the locally caught fish and Costa Rican delicacies. You can check out the full menus here: El Mirador Breakfast Menu, El Mirador Dinner Menu.
When it comes to lounging by the beach, the Playitas Restaurant and Bar is your answer for a gluten-free lunch at Arenas Del Mar. I’m excited to not have to rely on one specific place to get food from – but rather have options everywhere! Apparently this setting is perfect for sloth watching as well. I guess I better bring my binoculars! Check out the lunch menu at this on-the-beach restaurant here: Playitas Restaurant and Bar Lunch Menu.
I imagine there will also be a night where room service seems like a good option, especially after exploring the rainforest all day! Arenas Del Mar room service menu is full of options that you can enjoy in your room, or on the private deck overlooking the ocean! Sounds perfect, right?
Gluten-Free Tropical Vacation
After my trip to Costa Rica, you will find several blog posts highlighting my time there, including the wonderful gluten-free food that I eat, as well as the activities available at the hotel and nearby.
Stay tuned for a look inside a gluten-free vacation destination that will hopefully serve as an example for all other resorts out there to give our community more options when it comes to traveling!
To get a closer look at Arenas Del Mar and the activities around the resort, watch the video below. It will probably make you want to call them up and book your trip ASAP, and when you do, tell them that G-Free Laura sent you!
