Crackers can be rather difficult to emulate gluten-free versions of. Either they have the desired cracker texture and no taste, or they have taste and not the cracker texture. It can be quite annoying sometimes. I have only found a handful of brands that I would actually tell you to “Buy these crackers, they are awesome.” Luckily, when I received my sample pack of Crunchmaster products in the mail, they got the G-Free Laura stamp of approval.
The first Crunchmaster treats I tried were the Cheezy Crisps and the Grammpy Crisps. It was hard for me to stop eating the cheese crisps (partly because I was downright starving), and my fingers ended up being as orange as the Cheetos Tiger. The Cheezy Crisps’ taste is a cross between a dorito and…I still haven’t figured it out yet, but they’re pretty good. They still don’t measure up to my all time, gluten-filled favorite though, the Cheez-It, but that’s a hard thing to do.
The Cinnamon & Sugar Gammy Crips were also very good, and I imagine they would compliment different desserts well, or even help one to take care of their sweet tooth craving.
I also received three different flavors of Crunchmaster’s Multi Grain and Multi-Seed Crackers, including White Cheddar, Vegetable, and Original. First I tried the Multi-Grain White Cheddar flavor as I needed something to nibble on while blogging one night. The second flavor I tried a few days later during a family get-together were the Roasted Vegetable flavor. OMG they were AMAZING. The whole bag was gone within minutes as soon as my family’s guests tasted them! I was thoroughly impressed. Finally, the Original Multi-Seed flavor was pretty good, but I tried them sans topping. I bet if you paired the cracker with cheese or another cracker-topping, they’d be glorious.
I pictured myself eating the different multi-grain crackers as part of the grazing portion of a holiday party. You know, when the gluten-eaters make platters full of cheese, sausage and other toppings to place atop good ol’ Ritz Crackers, or the like. I think these Crunchmaster crackers would be the perfect gluten-free alternative.
So do I recommend trying these products? H-yeah I do. My personal favorite was the Multi-Grain Roasted Vegetable flavor, and I am 100% confident I will be purchasing them in the near future. This time I just have to try to NOT eat the entire bag in one sitting…or I can just buy a larger bag!
