If you follow me on Instagram @GFreeLaura, you probably noticed the little trip I took recently. I spent 6 days at Arenas del Mar in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, otherwise known as gluten-free paradise. This wasn’t my first time at the hotel (see my previous posts from 2014), but I did discover new things about the hotel and fell even more in love with it, which I didn’t think was possible.
I visited Arenas del Mar with my best friend, Alana, after we spent 5 days at a yoga retreat near San Jose, Costa Rica. Seeing that we slept in a tentalow at the retreat, we were looking forward to the beautiful room waiting for us in Manuel Antonio, where Arenas del Mar is located.
I told Alana TONS about Arenas del Mar and shared all of the photos taken during my first visit, but that in no way prepares you for the beauty that the hotel has to offer. I wish I would have taken a video of when we walked into our room—or should I say, saved the Snapchat videos that were taken. From the look on her face, you would think that Alana had died and gone to heaven as we walked around the room we had the pleasure of staying in for the better part of a week.
Take a look at the photos below. Notice how stunning everything is. This is not hardcore photo editing people—this is straight up paradise. The reason that I love Arenas del Mar so much is that you don’t feel like you’re at a hotel when you’re on the grounds. You don’t have the all-inclusive resort feel of being inside the walls of a structured pool area. Instead, you feel as though you are at one with nature, because you are, as cliché as that may sound.
Stay tuned for more posts about my trip. I will be highlighting the amazing tours offered by the hotel, workout and yoga classes, delicious food, superior service and more. If you like to travel and you’re gluten free, this is basically your jam.
