Woodchuck’s Crisp Hard Cider

I should drink before I open my mouth next time, because I reviewed Woodchuck Hard Cider last week without ever having their Crisp flavor. Why should I have covered this ground before typing away and letting you all know my thoughts? Because Woodchuck’s Crisp Cider is my new fav.

One of my former criticisms of Woodchuck was the high amount of calories in the cider. I enjoyed drinking the flavors I reviewed [Granny Smith, Summer, and Private Reserve Ginger], but I did not enjoy the calories I was tipping back. After posting my review, and then receiving some responses from my wonderful readers, I was motivated to go check out the other flavors of Woodchuck that are locally available.

While browsing the booze aisle at The Anderson’s in Toledo, OH I found Woodchuck Crisp – a 120 calorie/bottle hard cider that was about to rock my world. I took my 6-packs home and stock piled the mini fridge with my new treat. The next day, as I packed my cooler for the beach, I filled it up with a few [or five] bottles. Once I arrived to my beach chair, it was time to get tastin’.

After taking my first sip of the Crisp flavor, I was in L-O-V-E. The other brand of light cider I have tasted did not have the same yumminess factor as Woodchuck’s Crisp flavor. Although, I must say, I have never been, and will never be a beer drinker, so I thoroughly enjoy the sweetness of Woodchuck compared to the latter. That is the one thing that gluten-drinkers tell me, “Oh, that’s just too sweet for me!”. Well, I don’t agree with them, Maybe it’s because they taste my Woodchuck after they’ve been knee deep in a case of beer? I am not quite sure.

So, moral of the post: Woodchuck Crisp Cider is the bomb diggity, and it only has 120 calories/bottle so you won’t feel too guilty drinking it. It is my new favorite gluten free drink.
